How GapSeat Chart Data Works

GapSeat is an independent discovery tool. It helps users inspect possible berth gaps between two stations after reservation-chart information becomes available. It is not affiliated with IRCTC or Indian Railways and it does not sell, reserve, or allot tickets.

What the tool checks

1. You provide a train, journey date, boarding station, and destination station.
2. GapSeat checks the chart information available for that request.
3. The result highlights coach and berth segments that appear unoccupied between the selected stations.
4. Where shown, a multi-segment path is only a suggestion assembled from separate apparent gaps.

What a result does not mean

• It is not a confirmed booking, ticket, upgrade, or permission to board.
• It does not guarantee that a berth will remain vacant.
• It does not override your PNR status, railway rules, or a railway employee's decision.
• A multi-segment suggestion is valid only if every segment is separately covered by an official booking or allotment.

Freshness and limitations

Chart preparation and later operational changes can alter the information available for a train. Results may be incomplete, delayed, or unavailable for some trains, classes, dates, or station pairs. Recheck when appropriate and treat the displayed time and result as informational.

What to verify before acting

Use official IRCTC or Indian Railways channels to confirm final availability, ticket status, booking, fare, cancellation or refund rules, and permission to travel. On-board allotment is controlled only by authorized railway staff.
